1.06.11 LMP1 start for Wolfgang Kaufmann
One thing Wolfgang Kaufmann cannot complain about these days is a lack of diversity in his choice of racing vehicles.
The drive in the 12 Hours of Budapest with the Brokernet Silver Sting was called off but the Superkarts waited on the Nürburgring instead: „There were only eleven entrants in Budapest. With no serious competition, the team Bovi Motorsport decided against racing there, which European Superkart Series was correct. So on short notice, I jumped at the chance of competing in two races of the at the IDM motorcycle weekend on the Nürburgring, Kaufmann explains his change of itinerary.
From the Eifel to the Ardennes, to the Formula 1 track at Spa-Francorchamps: On Wednesday Racing Europe's Lola Judd tested for the first time in Belgium. „The team has put extreme effort and energy into finalizing the package, but now everything fits. Our engineers, my team mates Thor-Christian Ebbesvik and Alexander Geraud, our tire development partner Cooper Tires and the whole crew at Guess Racing put in some great work and we are happy with the lap times we've achieved.“ Now the team is planning ahead for a start at the 6 Hours of Imola, third round of the Le Mans Series.
But before this drive with the LMP1 coupé, the high point of the German motorsports season waits: the 24 Hour race on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. For renowned and successful team Kremer Racing from Cologne, the racer from the Westerwald will be driving an immaculately prepared Porsche 997 in the SP7 class. „It will be a tough battle against the factory supported teams of Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Porsche, but over the distance we think our reliability gives us a chance at a good result.“
